What do you utilize as opposed to a cake tester?
A toothpick and my instinct and experience.
— A bamboo skewer or the pointer of a blade, if its a fragile sponge I simply touch it gently with my finger, if it bounces back up its normally all set.
— Toothpick, or a bamboo skewer if the cake is actually thick.
— A 12″” bamboo skewer.
