CHILDREN’S FAVORITE PORCUPINE SLIDERS

This is an entree especially for children to eat healthy. High in protein with appropriate amount of spices and fruits like tomatoes and cranberries. And whole wheat or whole grain is what this entree emphasizes.

 

Porcupine sliders

 

Ingredients:<serves for 6>

Medium grain brown rice 1/2 cup
Vegetable oil 1T
Yellow onions<minced> 2T
Garlic<minced> 1 sm clove
Celery<washed and minced> 1 small stalk
Lean ground turkey 16 oz
Dried cranberries<chopped> 2T
Spinach leaf<washed, drained, stones removed, chopped> 3/4 cup
Eggs 2
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Worschestershire sauce 1 teaspoon
Crushed red pepper pinch

Instructions:

1.Wash clean your hands, prepare all the equipment at the ready
2.According to the package instructions to cook brown rice. After well-cooked, pour it into a plate and let cool immediately by putting it into the fridge, you can prepare it well ahead of day
3.Preheat the oven to 350F
4.Add yellow onions, celery and garlic into a pan, cook with oil until all the ingredients are soft, it needs for 5 minutes to be well-cooked. Put it to the fridge and let cool wholly
5.Mix all ingredients including cooked rice and cooked onion mixture in a large bowl
6.Lay a baking paper on a baking pan, and put a part of the mixture onto 2.5 oz patties the diameter of buns, bake at 350F for 12-18 minutes<time will change according to your oven>. Until turkey is at the temperature of 165F and avoid of overcooking
7.Just decorate with some lettuce, tomatoes, read onions and some condiments on the whole grain or whole wheat rolls
