PECAN PIE

American pecans have a strong flavor of butter. Eat raw or sauted. Pecan pie is one of the main desserts in South America. Nuts are rich in proteins and unsaturated fatty acid which can reduce the risk of gall-stone in women and reduce high cholesterol.

 

Pecan pie

 

For the pie skin:
A. All purpose flour 1 1/3 cups
White sugar 26g
Salt 1/6 teaspoon
B.Butter 1/4 cups
Lard 60g
C. Cold water 4 tablespoons

1.Mingle ingredients of A in a pot, add in cubed butter and Lard, press and pinch the flour into the Lard
2.Sprinkle cold water evenly, stir into bulks with a fork, knead dough into a round ball shape, sprinkle pinch powder on the kneading board, press hard and roll into a 10 inch pie, and put it into a 9 inch glass ovenware, freeze for 10 minutes

For the filling:
D. Eggs 4
Corn syrup 250g
Brown sugar 50g
Butter 3 tablespoons
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/6 teaspoon
E. Chopped pecans 125g

3.Beat 4 eggs into a medium bowl with an egg mixer, add the remaining ingredients of D, mix well, then add in ingredients of E, stir well
4.Pour the filling onto the pie skin, put it into the 350F oven and bake for 40 minutes

For the topping:
F. Brown sugar 50g
Butter 3 tablespoons
Honey 4 tablespoons
G. Pecan halves 175g

5.Heat a medium pot, add all ingredients of F when the pie has been baked for 30 minutes, cook until sugar is melted, them stir in ingredients of G, and lightly spoon on the pie which has been baked for 40 minutes, wrap the pie edge with a silver paper
6.Put it into 350F oven and bake for 25 minutes, let cool
