Mix sugar, chocolate, cinn with mayonnaise. Add dates with water, nuts, flour, soad and salt to the mixture. Add vanilla. Mix together. My grandmother and mother made a lovely unfrosted date cake, very moist. Even as children, we all loved it. Cakes made with dates seem so quaintly old fashion to me.
